NYC Immersion Trip, Second Version

Hi all!

One year later and we're back!!!  We leave on Friday for NYC--we have ten students going this year, a mix of music (classical and musical theatre), theatre, and dance students which has made for a fascinating schedule.  Dr. Alan Rieck is the other faculty member going with us this year, and his wife Ruth will be traveling with us as well.  The group has been meeting in a two hour seminar on Mondays from 3-5 p.m. and we've been working on writing and practicing interview questions, head shots, resumes, networking, diversity, and values.  We've learned a lot in our seminars, and now its time to apply what we know to our actions as we experience living and working in NYC.

We are all traveling to Minneapolis on Friday evening, some staying with family and friends, and the "adults" (ha ha!) in a hotel near the airport, since our flight leaves at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday.  An early start, but then it makes Saturday a useable day in the city, and we will do that!  We are having our opening night dinner and attending Sondheim's musical "Passion" on the first day we're there!  We'll hit the ground running!

We will stay again at the Hotel Deauville--they seem to be under new management so the experience hasn't been as smooth as last year, but we love the Gramercy Park neighborhood, there is a bodega across the street, and we are less than a block from a subway station.  So, it is worth it!

We have an incredible schedule set up--we'll reveal it to you day by day.  For now, I'll leave you with a few pics from last year, and an invitation to follow us throughout our week in the city, March 16-23.
Signing out-
